Meditation at Plus Fit

In buddhist tradition the word Meditation means stilling the mind. Buddhists believe the Purpose of meditation is to stop the mind rushing about in an aimless or even a purposeful stream of thoughts. Mindfulness might be developed by paying attention to the breath , or to body and feelings, or the current of ideas and images that moves through the mind as meditators sit and observe themselves . But what Buddhists get from meditation is more than just calm. Meditation is about training your mind , just like we train our bodies to be fit .

When we start meditating we fill our lives with long lasting benefits for our body . We improve our focus , we get to know our pain , we connect better , improves blood circulation ,less anxiety deeper relaxation and we lower our stress level . Meditation has been practiced since antiquity in numerous religious traditions and beliefs often as part of the path towards enlightenment and self realization .Since 19th century , it has spread from its origins to other cultures where it is commonly practised in private and business life . It's quite difficult for a beginner to sit for hours and have an empty mind. Meditation is simpler than most people think . Make sure you are somewhere you can relax into this process, set a timer and give it a shot .
